The theme for the 2010 Forum is ‘Wildlife and Values to the Community,’ recognizing the outstanding biodiversity of the Bruce Peninsula and its significance to the social and economic wellbeing of the local community.

The 2010 Forum will include presentations and workshops by a wide range of researchers and local experts on topics such as:

  • Wildlife disease
  • Insect taxonomy
  • Patterns in bird migration
  • Black bear viability
  • Fishes of the inland waters
  • Conservation genetics
  • Resource management

  • Old growth ecosystems
  • Tourism and wildlife
  • Species at risk
  • Fossils: Evidence of past species
  • Bird identification
  • Invasive species
  • Restoration for wildlife

An exhibit session will feature a wide range of local action and projects as well as an art exposition that will illustrate another way of capturing local knowledge. A wine and cheese reception in the evening will also allow participants to meet the researchers and share their own knowledge of the Bruce Peninsula’s natural and cultural heritage.
